ULEZ Exempt Mopeds & MotorcyclesTo help improve air quality, an Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) Has been in place in central London Since 8 April 2019. Most vehicles including cars, vans and motorcycles [which would include mopeds and road licensed scooters] will need to meet new, tighter exhaust emission standards (ULEZ standards) or pay a daily charge to travel within the area of the ULEZ From 25 October 2021, the ULEZ area will be expanded to include the inner London area bounded by the North and South Circular Roads as below. From the TFL Web-Site. The following information affects Motorcycle and Moped owners.
Motorcycles, mopeds and road legal scooters need to meet minimum emission standards when travelling in the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) or be subject to a charge.Vehicles included are:
All vehicles will need to meet Euro 3 emissions standards. Euro 4 started January 2005 so any bikes purchased before that date will likely be Euro 3 and hence affected. Any 2 stroke is likely to be affected (eg Vespa and other similar scooters)The ULEZ will be enforced based on the declared emissions of the vehicle rather than the age - but generally speaking Euro 3 engines as those registered with the DVLA after July 2007.
Clearly electric mopeds and motorcycle will not be affected so check out our ranges and book a test drive or contact us to discuss your requirements.
